ABOUT

I was thrilled to be selected as an artist for HKWALLS 2019, marking my second year participating in this prestigious annual street art festival in Hong Kong. This year, my mural painting experience was uniquely collaborative. I had the pleasure of working alongside fellow artist Wong Ting Fung, who is renowned for his monochrome, black-and-white cat illustrations. We created a dynamic and visually engaging mural that combined our distinct artistic styles.

CONCEPT

Blending Portrait and Monochrome Art

The concept for our collaborative mural was to merge my portrait painting with Wong Ting Fung's signature black-and-white cat illustrations. This fusion of styles aimed to create a fresh and innovative piece of art that stands out in the urban landscape. The mural features a harmonious blend of detailed portraiture and striking monochrome elements, symbolizing the fusion of different artistic visions and the beauty of collaborative creativity.

INSPIRATION

Artistic Synergy and Urban Expression

The inspiration behind this mural came from the idea of artistic synergy and the power of collaboration. By combining my love for portrait painting with Wong Ting Fung's unique monochrome style, we sought to create a mural that resonates with the diverse and vibrant spirit of Hong Kong. This project allowed us to explore new artistic boundaries and bring a fresh perspective to the streets, celebrating the city's rich cultural tapestry and the dynamic nature of street art.
