HKWALLS 2018

HKWALLS 2018

ABOUT

I was honored to be selected as an artist for HKWALLS 2018, a prestigious public art and street art festival in Hong Kong. This project marked my first venture into public art, and it turned out to be a perfect match for a fine jewelry store located at Square Street. The synergy between the mural and the store's elegant setting was a delightful surprise. The mural captured the essence of Hong Kong's cultural heritage while enhancing the ambiance of the retail space.

CONCPET

Celebrating Women in Cheongsam

The concept for my mural was inspired by the traditional Chinese dress known as "Cheongsam" or "Qipao." I painted ladies adorned in these beautiful garments, which turned out to be a coincidental yet fitting tribute to Square Street—a popular spot where women in Hong Kong often wear traditional attire. This mural captures a special moment in time, celebrating the elegance and grace of women in Cheongsam and highlighting the cultural significance of this traditional costume.

INSPIRATION

Cultural Heritage and Elegance

The inspiration behind this mural came from the rich cultural heritage of Hong Kong and the timeless elegance of the Cheongsam. By incorporating this traditional dress into my artwork, I aimed to create a visual narrative that honors the city's history and the beauty of its customs. The mural serves as a poignant reminder of the past, blending seamlessly with the contemporary setting of squarestreet and adding a touch of sophistication to the jewelry store.
