DFS reached out to me as they prepared to open their newly renovated store, T Galleria Beauty by DFS, located in MOKO, a popular shopping mall in Mongkok, Hong Kong. Impressed by my artistic style and previous artwork, they approached me with the exciting opportunity of creating 10 mural pieces to be placed in various locations throughout the store. They sought to elevate the ambiance and provide a visually captivating experience for their customers.

INSPIRATION
Inspired by the Mongkok culture’s charm.
Immersed in the rich heritage and urban landscape of Mongkok, I found myself captivated by its vibrant tapestry. From the renowned Goldfish Market and bustling Bird Streets to the juxtaposition of traditional architectural marvels and modern establishments, this place inherently blended modernity and tradition.
Each corner held a story waiting to be told through art, inspiring me to visually capture the unique essence of Mongkok in my artistic expression.
CONCEPT
A blend of modern and tradition
The concept is to blend modernity and tradition, with women as the focal point of the mural. Each woman's face radiates joy and happiness, embodying the emotions experienced by visitors to the store.
Symbolic elements, such as antique traditional gates, goldfish, enchanting birdcages, and nature motifs, are intricately woven into the artwork. These elements serve as a reflection of Mongkok's rich cultural tapestry, adding depth and meaning to the visual narrative.
The interconnected lines in the mural create a visual harmony, linking the women to these symbolic elements. This connection symbolizes the interplay between modern and traditional elements, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Mongkok.
